In a corner of the colombian llanos, on the banks of the Cravo Sur River in the municipality of Orocué, emerges an unforgettable place composed of beautiful and traditional palm houses (bungalows), with the greatest comfort and luxury found in the llanos: excellent accommodation and service, gourmet food and nature observation tours through beautiful wooded trails, which complement the experience of exploring its rivers by boat in the best way.
The contact with the natural environment can be done on foot or on horseback through its savannas, forests and beaches (the latter in the dry season).

ITINERARY:

Starting Point: Alcaraván Airport or Hotel in Yopal.

Finishing Point: Alcaraván Airport or Hotel in Yopal.

Start time – day 1: 8:30

End time – day 3: 16:00

 

Day 1: We will meet at the airport or place in Yopal previously agreed.
Departure by 4×4 van to Savanna Lodge.
You can tell the driver if you require a stop at the ATM or to make some kind of purchase before departure.

 

Arrival at Savanna Lodge is scheduled around 11:00 am.
On the road you will be able to contemplate the colombian llanos landscape, crossing extensive savannahs and observing some species of birds.
There you will be greeted with a delicious welcome drink, you will be assigned your place of accommodation (bungalow), and then you will go to the private lounge to enjoy a delicious lunch in front of the beautiful view of the Cravo Sur River.

 

In the afternoon, you will go on a bird and fauna watching tour through the Cravo Sur river forest.
At the end of the day, you will enjoy a sunset with a beautiful landscape.
In the evening, you will enjoy the hotel’s menu of drinks and meals.

 

Day 2. Wake up around 5:30 a.m.; you will have a coffee and then go out by boat on the Canacabare river to record the species of fauna that are active in the early hours of the morning.
Aquatic birds will accompany the tour and possibly howler monkeys and corn monkeys.
You will return to the hotel for a buffet breakfast.
The rest of the morning you will enjoy the swimming pool and the general facilities of the hotel.

 

After lunch you can go horseback riding along the beaches of the river or through the savannahs of the place.
At night you will have a bonfire and listen to stories of the llanera tradition.

 

Day 3: It is about 5:30 a.m. you will have a coffee and get ready to go for a walk through the forests of the Canacabare channel to look for animals that visit this area, such as anteaters and howler monkeys.
Afterwards, they will have breakfast and learn about the experience of breeding “terecay” and “charapa” turtles: two endangered turtle species that are part of the program for their conservation and repopulation, currently developed by the Palmarito Foundation and the Cunaguaro Foundation.

 

After this activity, they will have lunch on the banks of the Cravo Sur River and then return to Yopal.
