If you want to experience an ecological tour in Casanare, Colombia, but you only have one day available, you can do it.
This tour is the first step to the extraordinary experience of watching wildlife in its habitat, in one of the most important natural reserves in the area.
There you will be able to integrate in one day several activities and get to know representative sectors of its more than 9 thousand hectares destined for conservation and traditional livestock activity, with the possibility of observing capybaras, deers, babillas and maybe with luck a feline or the wonderful anteater.

ITINERARY:

 

Starting Point y End: El Alcaraván Airport or defined meeting point in Yopal.

Starting time : 7:00.

End time: 20:00.

 

We will pick you up at the indicated point in Yopal around 7:00 am.
You will be able to enjoy the transition landscapes between piedmont ecosystems and flooded savannahs, passing through different rice and livestock areas.
The entrance to the natural reserve Encanto de Guanapalo will be around 9:00, to immediately begin to enjoy the beautiful scenery, accompanied by herons, capybaras and babillas, along with horses and cattle, before arriving at the place of reception.

 

At the house they will be waiting for you around 10:00 with a cold drink.
You will be able to walk along the trails near the ranch and observe the wildlife that lives naturally in the area, to give way to a delicious lunch in front of a unique colombian llanos landscape.

 

Between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m., you will go deep into the Reserve in the safari vehicle to experience the authentic colombian llanos safari and search for the most emblematic animals of the plains (anteaters, babillas, turtles, anacondas, among others).
You will travel through different points of the more than 9,000 hectares that make up the Encanto de Guanapalo, with the possibility of making stops to walk and explore the wooded areas and wetlands.

 

At the end of the afternoon they will have a toast where they will contemplate the sunset with a toast, and then return to the city of Yopal.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

  • Wear comfortable, cool, quick-drying clothing, ideally in earth tones that allow for greater camouflage in the natural landscape.
    Pants and long sleeve shirts.
    Cap or hat (you can find an offer of hats in our allied store in Yopal “Sobreros Florentino”).
  • Rubber or waterproof boots (depending on size and availability they can be supplied by us), and comfortable and safe closed shoes.
  • Raincoat and dry bags for equipment.
  • Sun block and insect repellent.
  • Water bottle, thermos or camelback.

  • A medium sized assault backpack for use during activities.
